Contract Engineer – Junior

Role Purpose:
Provide contract administration and commercial support to the Project Contracts team in managing engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) contracts throughout the project lifecycle. The role supports contract governance, compliance monitoring, correspondence management, change administration, contractor performance monitoring, and commercial coordination to ensure efficient and compliant contract execution.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Support administration and management of project contracts, including monitoring milestones, deliverables, obligations, expiry dates, and contract compliance.
  • Assist in maintaining contract registers, correspondence logs, document records, and version control systems.
  • Support review and administration of contract amendments, change orders, variations, claims, and close-out documentation.
  • Assist in reviewing Open Book tender and bid evaluation processes where applicable.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, SCM, Legal, Finance, QA/QC, and Project teams to ensure contractual alignment and timely execution.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with contractual obligations, insurance requirements, guarantees, and supporting certifications.
  • Support invoice verification, payment certification, and commercial reconciliation activities against contract provisions.
  • Identify contractual risks, deviations, and compliance concerns and escalate as required.
  • Assist preparation of contractual correspondence, letters, formal notices, and meeting documentation.
  • Participate in contract meetings and support follow-up of contractual and commercial actions.
  • Maintain contract records to ensure completeness, traceability, and audit readiness.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, procedures, and HSSE requirements.

Qualifications include but are not limited to the following:

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Commercial Management, Supply Chain, Business, Law, or other relevant disciplines.

Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in contract administration, contract engineering, procurement, or commercial support within oil & gas, EPC/EPCIC, offshore, marine, or infrastructure projects.

Demonstrated experience in:

  • Contract administration and commercial support activities.
  • Managing contractual documentation and correspondence.
  • Supporting contract change management and close-out activities.
  • Working with contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Supporting offshore, subsea, SURF, GEP, or installation-related contracts is preferred.

Skills:

1. Knowledge

  • Good understanding of contract administration principles and procurement processes.
  • Familiarity with EPCI project delivery and offshore execution environments.
  • Understanding of commercial documentation, contract obligations, and change management processes.
  • Familiarity with contract management systems and document control processes.

2. Soft & Hard Skills

  • Strong coordination and stakeholder management capability.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.
  • Good analytical and commercial awareness skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract administration tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
