Singapore-based Role
Role Purpose:
The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for the interface with CTR in a lease and operate context for the detailed engineering, specification, procurement support, construction support, commissioning, and offshore delivery of electrical systems for FPSO projects from Detailed Engineering through offshore startup and handover.
The role ensures that all electrical systems are designed and delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project requirements, applicable standards, classification rules, and client expectations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Develop and review detailed electrical engineering deliverables.
- Perform electrical system studies and calculations.
- Review electrical layouts and 3D model integration.
- Coordinate interfaces with other engineering disciplines.
- Power generation systems
- HV and LV distribution systems
- Switchboards and MCCs
- Transformers
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- UPS systems
- Battery systems
- Lighting systems
- Earthing and lightning protection systems
- Hazardous area electrical installations
- Load flow studies
- Short circuit studies
- Protection coordination studies
- Motor starting studies
- Arc flash studies
- Harmonic analysis
- Load list development
- Prepare electrical equipment specifications and requisitions.
- Evaluate vendor bids and technical proposals.
- Review vendor drawings and calculations.
- Coordinate vendor interfaces and technical clarifications.
- Manage assigned electrical packages.
- Ensure compliance with:
- IEC
- IEEE
- API
- NORSOK
- Classification Society requirements
- Flag State regulations
- Client specifications
- Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and design reviews.
- Support fabrication and integration yard activities.
- Resolve technical queries from construction teams.
- Participate in inspections and site reviews.
- Support NCR resolution and engineering assessments.
- Participate in:
- Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
- Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
- Mechanical Completion
- Pre-commissioning
- Commissioning
- Integrated system testing
- Support power system energization activities.
- Support offshore hook-up and commissioning campaigns.
- Participate in startup and performance testing.
- Ensure electrical systems are delivered according to project requirements.
- Support final handover documentation and project close-out.

Qualifications include but are not limited to the following:
Education:
- Minimum bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
Experience:
- 5–15 years of experience in offshore oil and gas projects. FPSO, Offshore Platform, LNG, or Petrochemical project experience preferred.
- Proven experience through Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning phases.
Skills:
- Knowledge
- Offshore electrical system design.
- High Voltage and Low Voltage systems.
- ETAP, SKM, or equivalent power system software.
- Electrical studies and calculations.
- Hazardous area design.
- Vendor package engineering.
- FAT and commissioning activities.
- Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, and offshore electrical standards.
