Role Purpose:

The Head of HSSE & Asset Integrity (HSSE & AI) is responsible for leading and managing all Health, Safety, Security, Environment, Asset Integrity, and ESG functions across the Indonesia Business Unit. This role ensures full regulatory compliance, drives HSSE excellence, strengthens organizational safety culture, and safeguards the integrity of people, assets, environment, and operations.

Reporting to senior leadership, the role provides strategic direction, governance, and assurance to support safe, compliant, and sustainable upstream oil & gas operations while enabling business continuity and long-term value creation.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead and manage the implementation of HSSE, Asset Integrity, and ESG strategies, ensuring alignment with corporate standards, SKK Migas regulations, and international best practices.
  • Provide strategic leadership and governance across HSSE & AI functions, ensuring effective policies, procedures, and management systems are in place and consistently applied.
  • Drive a strong HSSE culture and leadership engagement, embedding the principle of no harm to people and no incidents across employees and contractors.
  • Oversee risk management, incident prevention, investigation, and assurance programs, ensuring effective mitigation of operational, environmental, and process safety risks.
  • Ensure full compliance with Indonesian regulations, SKK Migas requirements, ISO management systems (ISO 45001, 14001, 9001), and company OMS frameworks.
  • Lead Asset Integrity Management (AIM) across the asset lifecycle, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations in exploration, development, and production activities.
  • Direct the development and execution of Business Continuity Plans (BCP), emergency response frameworks, and crisis management readiness.
  • Oversee ESG and sustainability initiatives, including carbon reduction strategies, environmental management, and ESG reporting to corporate and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Manage HSSE & AI budgets, resources, and workforce planning, ensuring effective deployment of personnel and cost control.
  • Provide regular reporting, insights, and technical advice to the President Director, senior management, partners, and regulatory authorities.
  • Lead engagement with government authorities, regulators, partners, and industry stakeholders on HSSE, ESG, and asset integrity matters.
  • Ensure effective contractor HSSE management, including qualification, audits, performance monitoring, and compliance with company standards.
  • Foster continuous improvement through assurance frameworks, audits, lessons learned, and implementation of best practices across all operations.
    

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Min. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental, Engineering, or other relevant disciplines.
  • Master's degree in a related discipline is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in HSSE, Asset Integrity, or technical leadership roles within the upstream oil & gas industry.
  • Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary HSSE teams in complex operational environments, including offshore or deepwater operations.
  • Strong background in HSSE management systems, process safety, and asset integrity frameworks.
  • Experience working within regulated environments and engaging with government authorities and industry stakeholders.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision‑making capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Strong understanding of risk management, ESG, sustainability, and business continuity frameworks.
  • Ability to lead change, drive culture transformation, and manage complex, high‑risk operations.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to HSSE excellence.
