Position title: Sr. Officer Compensation & Benefit
Reports to: Compensation & Benefit Manager


ROLE PURPOSE:

Assist in the development of reward strategy and policies, and ensure effective implementation and administration of all compensation and benefits programs for employees in accordance with the Company HC strategy, policies and processes. Responsibilities also include secondee (international assignee) reward management and payroll administration.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Job Documentation

  • Assist in reviewing and analyzing existing job descriptions and job specifications and update/modify all relevant job descriptions.
  • Coordinates with various regional HC Managers and ensures that an appropriate job evaluation system is applied to determine the relative worth of jobs based on any change in additional responsibilities or context and assign a suitable job grade for every position to establish internal equity.

Compensation and Benefit Strategy

  • Assist the Compensation & Benefits Manager to ensure that compensation and benefit strategies and related strategic plans are developed, and implemented, which are aligned with the business objectives of MP - globally.
  • Ensure that the developed strategy is closely aligned with Shareholders compensation and benefits strategy and suitably customized as per industry (Oil and Gas) norms.
  • Assist the Compensation & Benefits Manager in ensuring effective development and execution of compensation and benefits strategy/policies for the Secondee (International assignee).
  • Analysis of the market trends on the development of regional compensation and benefits strategy.

Reward Surveys

  • Participate in regular or bespoke Reward surveys in order to study the market reward levels and recommend appropriate rectification of material shortfalls in the salary structure which may impact MPs recruitment and retention strategy.

Industry best practices

  • Ensure regular updating on the external environment and industry best practices to bring in the best systems and reward policies for MP to enhance the effectiveness of the workforce.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

  • Recommend improvements to departmental procedure and support in the implementation of instructions and controls covering a specific area of Compensation and Benefit activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.

MIS and Reports

  • Prepare compensation and benefit MIS statements reports timely and accurate to meet the Company's and departments requirements, policies, and standards.

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of Compensation and benefits unit systems, processes, and practices considering international best practice, improvement of business processes, cost reduction, and productivity improvement

Database, MIS, and Reports

  • Prepare compensation and benefit Shareholder statements reports timely and accurately to meet Shareholder and department requirements, policies, and standards such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates.
  • Maintain and update employee personal files and system records in a timely manner

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge: Degree, MBA, and professional qualification (e.g. GRP) preferred.

Experience: 5-7 years of HR generalist role of which 2-3 should have been in the compensation and benefit area. Experience in global compensation and benefits (and reward) and knowledge of the local compensation market would be preferred. Past exposure to the oil and gas sector would be an advantage.
