ROLE PURPOSE:

  • Responsible for preparing KPIs/measures for performance monitoring, leading annual budgeting exercise, assisting manager in supervising monthly management reporting and play the role of connection hub between MIC, MP and finance teams in MP SEA and MECA regions.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The role includes tasks categorized in following sections (but not limited to):

Monthly Management Reporting

  • Ensure financial data from MP Business Units / Assets for fixed reporting periods is obtained in a timely manner.
  • Analyze variance between Actual/Forecast versus Plan, to enable management to take corrective action in case of material deviation from approved plans.
  • Maintain and ensure the database is updated regularly in order to ensure data consistency and timely production of reports that would satisfy both MP and Shareholder management information requirements.
  • Assist in the maintenance of a financial database which includes all MP Business Units / Assets, ensuring alignment with MP chart of accounts.
  • Liaise with Systems Team in improving ways and methods for efficient and quality reporting of financial and operational information from MP Business Units /Assets across the Globe.
  • Prepare and submit MMIR reports on MPs Global financial and operational performance with focus on KPIs in order to provide management with a summary of the overall Financial performance.

Annual Budgeting and Business planning

  • Leading in MPs Five years Business planning exercise in consolidating both Business Units and Corporate Units across MP and preparing Business plan presentation for submission to Platform.
  • Support in developing and implementing budgeting and budgetary control processes, issue operating and controls framework for annual budgets, commitments, expenditure and latest estimates.
  • Assist in the establishment/maintenance of budgeting and reporting policies and procedures for the Group
  • Provide support to MP Business Units or/and Assets in Business Plan/Budgeting activities

Performance Management

  • Prepared and maintain MPs performance measurement process as per the guidelines from Platform/MIC and regularly update the management with MPs progress on scorecard/ratings.
  • Compute annual/quarterly draft score/rating for MP consolidated results at year-end in collaboration with MIC Platform finance.
  • Assist the Manager B&R in preparing individual MP Business Units/Assets Performance scorecard along with key KPIs and rating methodology for their respective performance evaluations. Also, regularly update the management on performance record and status against target of each BUs/Asset.

Value addition Automation in reporting and Business support

  • Assist the MP Growth teams in evaluation financial impacts of potential new opportunities in terms of net income, net cash and Business plan impact analysis.
  • Key finance focal point to maintain all MP Assets essential information i.e. Fiscal regimes, PSC mechanisms, Royalty/Tax computations, etc.
  • Lead the drive of automating monthly management information reporting and Performance management through Jedox financial reporting system.
  • Improvising and reducing timeline in monthly management reporting and analysis process. Also, suggest efficient ways to improve the Annual Budgeting exercise with better collaboration and coordination with platform and MIC.
  • Perform or manage special projects or Adhoc reporting tasks/ Functional tasks as requested from time to time.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge:

  • Advance knowledge and hands on experience of IFRS for Oil and Gas Sector (including Petroleum Fiscal regimes, Economic analysis and Joint Ventures Reporting essential).
  • Information systems knowledge (Jedox, Oracle and Hyperion) recommended.
  • The incumbent should be a finance professional (ACA, CPA, CIMA) with a minimum of 8 years post qualifications experience, of which at least 4 years is in E&P/Energy business is a must.
  • Knowledge of IFRS, Management Information / Reporting and budgeting processes in a reputed oil and gas company / oil and gas division of a Big 4 Audit firm is essential.
  • Financial analysis, Financial controls and reporting processes
  • Excellent command on MS Office suite (especially MS Word Excel and PowerPoint).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 12+ years of progressive work experience
  • Oil & Gas industry experience is preferred
  • A big 4 audit background is an advantage
