Commercial Manager
About the job Commercial Manager
ROLE PURPOSE:
- Support Senior Manager, Commercial in all aspects relating to the commercialisation of hydrocarbon resources within the Malaysian BU.
- Formulate and implement a commercialisation strategy for the monetisation of hydrocarbon resources of the Malaysian BU.
- Develop and manage commercial arrangements with regards to production Sharing Contracts, Joint Operating Agreements and other key commercial agreements.
- Work as a liaison between the various departments in the KL office on commercial projects, by providing input on commercial considerations in business decisions.
- Oversee, enable, develop and strengthen Company's commercial relationship with PETRONAS and Joint Venture partners
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Commercialisation and Growth
- Identify, analyse and conduct evaluation of commercialization strategies and monetisation options for exploration and discovered resources, with close collaboration with Technical and Finance team.
- Formulate negotiation strategy and tactical approaches, including proposing the commercial key terms and conditions of the relevant commercial arrangements and conducting risk assessments; to materialise the approved commercialisation option, while protecting the Company's interests.
- Provide commercial input to support project in each stage gates through to FID.
- Structure the economic modelling of commercialisation options together with economist and to make recommendations accordingly.
- Manage preparation and review of key commercial agreements such as the production sharing contracts, joint operating agreements and sales agreements.
Commercial Contract Management
- Manage the commercial operationalisation of the hydrocarbon sale and purchase agreement in coordination with production operation, aiming to optimise value while minimising contractual impact, compliance with internal governance and regulatory requirements per applicable laws.
- Ensure PSC and JOA contractual compliance and management through commercial support and involvement in various related committees/forums
Processes & Procedures
- Update, maintain and manage procedures and documentation retention to ensure that all commercial activities, processes and agreements are efficient, provide clarity on roles and responsibilities and adherence to internal governance.

- Ensure compliance with all commercially related safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, corporate, legislative and regulatory compliance
- Delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
- Demonstrate exemplary commitment to ME's HSE goals and culture.
- Establish clear and demonstrable mitigation measures, within all commercial dealings, to ensure that the main HSE and asset Integrity risks for delivery are captured. Review regularly.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge
Degree in a relevant discipline.
Experience
A minimum of 15 years of commercial experience in a leadership role with experience of gas sales agreements implementation. Ideally with extensive experience in the gas infrastructure and familiar with PSC environment.
Skills
General project skills. Excellent communication, analytical and strategic skills. Good interpersonal skills, highly innovative in the commercial environment
