Role Purpose:

The Senior Specialist, Commercial will be responsible for the end-to-end commercial management of gas pipeline sales, condensate, and (subsequently) LNG. This includes leading negotiations and execution of sale agreements and supporting contracts, optimizing sales portfolios, conducting market intelligence, managing key stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.

The role requires a strong understanding of the gas, LNG (preferred but not mandatory) and condensate value chains (both domestic and export), commercial negotiations, pricing strategies, and government stakeholder engagement, particularly within Indonesia's oil & gas regulatory landscape.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Pipeline Gas, LNG, and Condensate Sales and Contracting

  • Lead negotiations of pipeline gas, LNG and condensate sale and purchase agreements (SPAs), including supporting agreements such as transportation, terminal use, and scheduling agreements.
  • Interface with technical and operational teams to ensure seamless execution and alignment with contractual commitments.
  • Drive optimization of contractual volumes to maximize commercial value and asset utilization.
  • Monitor performance of executed contracts to ensure delivery compliance and resolve disputes, if any.

Market Analysis and Commercial Strategy

  • Conduct in-depth market analysis covering demand, supply, price trends, and competitor behavior.
  • Provide commercial insight to develop pricing strategies, sales forecasts, and margin optimization.
  • Identify new business opportunities and advise on commercial feasibility.

Stakeholder & Government Relations

  • Maintain productive relationships with regulatory bodies (e.g., SKK Migas, Migas), state-owned companies (e.g., Pertamina, PGN, PLN), and joint venture partners.
  • Represent the company in commercial forums and industry associations to advocate business interests.

Regulatory & Compliance Assurance

  • Build and maintain a deep understanding of the Indonesian industry regulations (across upstream, midstream and downstream).
  • Ensure all commercial activities are in full compliance with domestic and applicable international regulations.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and assess potential commercial impacts.
  • Collaborate with legal, finance, and risk teams to ensure governance and approvals are secured.

Risk Management

  • Identify and assess risks associated with commercial contracts and sales operations.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, including commercial insurance coverage, liability clauses, and price exposure management.

Qualifications include but are not limited to the following:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Law, or Economics; Master's degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 12 - 15 years of relevant experience in LNG/Condensate/Gas sales and contract negotiation, preferably in upstream or midstream oil & gas.
  • Experience in LNG and gas contract negotiation (HOA, SPA, GSA, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of Indonesian regulatory landscape and export/import frameworks.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading/supporting commercial negotiations.
  • Network of relationships amongst key external stakeholders (especially with Government stakeholders).
