Job Description

Mulgowie Farming Company is one of the largest and most respected horticultural businesses in Australia, specializing in the growing, packing and marketing of fresh produce for domestic and export markets. We are currently seeking self-motivated and experienced forklift driver to work with our despatch team based in Bowen.

You will be required to:

  • Ensure all company procedures, policies, documentation and records are maintained and followed.
  • Operate forklifts and machinery in a safe, efficient and competent manner.
  • Complete forklift pre-start checklist, logbook and key register before operation.
  • Load and unload trucks, containers and other transport vehicles with forklift.
  • Maintain strict product temperature control by utilising and following correct management and practices. Accurately maintain documentation and records.
  • Support your Manager to build a cohesive team that reflects Mulgowie Farming Companys values.
  • Reporting any maintenance requirements in your area, to the appropriate person.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures regarding despatch operations to ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility Laws.
  • Ensure compliance process and procedure are followed for the despatch of organic product or product for export.
  • Ensure the work area and equipment is safe and safe work practices are followed at all times.
  • Ensure all forklifts are checked, maintained & preventative maintenance completed and driven correctly by licensed operators.
  • Receive and store stock according to requirements. Ensure all receivals are accounted for and are in good order.
  • Take note of performance feedback and act upon accordingly.
  • Have a willingness to support other areas of the business/ team when required.
  • Perform all other reasonable duties as directed by Management expected of someone within this position.

Experience and skills required:

  • Current Australian Forklift Licence
  • High level forklift operation experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Superior organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • High levels of attention to detail
  • Available to work early morning shift on a 5 to 6 days a week roster.
