Senior Backend Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you'll architect and develop robust, scalable server-side applications using PHP/Laravel and MySQL, while mentoring junior developers and contributing to our technical excellence.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and SOAP APIs using the Laravel framework
• Architect and optimize MySQL database schemas and queries for maximum performance and scalability
• Build secure authentication and authorization systems following industry standards
• Integrate third-party services and APIs with focus on reliability and efficiency
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code adhering to best practices and coding standards
• Lead code reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior team members
• Collaborate cross-functionally with frontend developers to design effective API contracts
• Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance
• Develop and maintain comprehensive automated testing suites with high code coverage

What We're Looking For
Required:

• 4+ years of professional backend development experience
• Expert-level proficiency in PHP and the Laravel framework
• Proven experience with MySQL database design, optimization, and complex query development
• Strong understanding of RESTful and SOAP API design principles and best practices
• Hands-on experience with Git version control and modern development workflows
• Practical knowledge of caching strategies (Redis, Memcached)
• Solid grasp of security best practices and OWASP guidelines
• Experience deploying and managing applications on Azure cloud platform
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills

Nice to Have:

• Experience designing and implementing microservices architecture
• Knowledge of message queuing systems (RabbitMQ, Laravel Queues)
• Hands-on experience with Docker and containerization
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
