Waiter / Waitress (Cape Winelands) Permanent

We're looking for a warm, professional waiter or waitress to join our front-of-house team. If you enjoy working with people, take pride in great service, and thrive in a busy restaurant environment — we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

• Welcome guests to your section, hand out menus and wine lists, and make sure everyone feels looked after from the moment they sit down.
• Know the menu inside out — including key ingredients and how dishes are prepared — so you can confidently answer questions and make recommendations.
• Set up and maintain tables — linen, cutlery, glassware — keeping everything neat and guest-ready throughout your shift.
• Take food and drink orders accurately using the POS system and ensure they reach the kitchen and bar promptly and correctly.
• Clear used crockery and cutlery between courses, offer desserts and coffee, and upsell where appropriate.
• Process bills accurately and ensure the restaurant floor, fixtures, and your uniform are always clean and presentable.

What We're Looking For

• Grade 12 certificate.
• At least 3 years of experience as a waiter or waitress in a similar setting (5 years for a Senior Waiter position).
• Basic knowledge of wine and the surrounding wine regions.
• Hands-on experience with a cash register and POS ordering system.
• Good communication skills and a natural ability to connect with guests.
• Patient, attentive, and comfortable working with a distinguished, high-end clientele.
• Well-presented, reliable, and flexible — with a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
• Basic maths skills for handling bills and cash.
