Process Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Process Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will optimise production processes, solve day-to-day engineering challenges, and work closely with operations and maintenance teams to improve plant performance. This is a great opportunity for an engineer who wants to grow their career in a hands-on environment.

What We Need From You

Must Have

• BSc / BEng / BTech in Chemical, Process, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
• 3–7 years of relevant process engineering experience in a plant or production environment
• Registered with ECSA (or actively working towards registration) – preferred
• Solid understanding of process optimisation, mass/energy balances, and P&IDs
• Experience with process simulation tools (e.g. Aspen, HYSYS) is an advantage
• Proficiency in MS Office; experience with SAP or similar systems is a plus
• Strong problem-solving ability and analytical mindset
• Good communication skills – able to work across teams and write clear reports
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks at once
• Comfortable working in an active plant / operational environment
• Understanding of South African HSE legislation and ISO standards is an advantage

What You Will Do

• Monitor and optimise plant processes to improve efficiency, yield, and quality
• Identify and investigate process problems and implement practical solutions
• Support new projects, process changes, and equipment commissioning
• Conduct process audits, root cause analyses, and write technical reports
• Work with the maintenance and operations teams on shutdowns and improvements
• Ensure processes comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on process performance
• Assist with training of operators and junior team members
