What You'll Do

  • Set and drive the national technical sales strategy and revenue targets.
  • Lead, develop, and grow a team of technical sales representatives.
  • Own major client relationships across steel, metals, chemicals, mining supply, and engineering.
  • Build and manage the sales pipeline — from prospecting through to contract close.
  • Drive a consultative, solutions-based selling approach across the team.
  • Identify new verticals and business development opportunities, including sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Report on sales performance, forecasts, and market trends to the executive team.

What You'll Bring

  • Degree in Engineering (Metallurgical, Chemical, Mechanical, or related) OR Commerce with strong technical grounding.
  • 10+ years technical sales experience, with at least 4 years in a senior or team leadership role.
  • Deep knowledge of steel, metals, industrial chemicals, or related process industries.
  • Proven track record of hitting revenue targets and growing accounts in a B2B technical environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills and credibility at plant manager, procurement, and C-suite level.
  • Valid South African driver's licence. Willingness to travel nationally.
