Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12); a relevant qualification in business, retail, or management is advantageous
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in fuel retail, convenience store, or related retail management
- Proven experience managing a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong financial acumen — cash handling, reconciliation, stock control
- Computer literate (MS Office, POS systems)
- Valid driver's licence
Operations Management
- Manage all forecourt, convenience store, and in-store food/café operations on a daily basis
- Oversee fuel and retail stock control, ordering, and inventory accuracy
- Ensure all equipment — pumps, POS systems, refrigeration, café equipment — is maintained and operational
- Implement and uphold company standards, policies, and brand requirements (Engen, Total, Caltex, etc.)
People Management
- Recruit, train, schedule, and manage a team of fuel attendants, cashiers, and café staff
- Conduct performance reviews and manage disciplinary processes in line with the Labour Relations Act
- Foster a positive working environment with a focus on accountability and development
Financial Management
- Manage daily cash-ups, banking, and reconciliation
- Monitor and control operating costs to achieve profitability targets
- Analyse sales reports and identify opportunities to grow turnover
- Handle payroll input and ensure accurate timekeeping records
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on the forecourt and in-store
- Maintain valid operating licences, certificates of compliance, and supplier agreements
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address any risks promptly
Customer Service
- Uphold high standards of customer service across all areas of the site
- Handle escalated customer complaints professionally and efficiently
