Technical Repair Technician (Durban) Permanent

Requirements

• Diploma / Certificate or degree in Electrical related fields
• Solid undersanding of renewable energy solutions
• Proven expeirence working with repair technicial support wor, batteries, inverters, solar, etc 

Job Description:

• Assembling, installing, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintenance;
• Sourcing replacement parts for systems and products;
• Providing training and supervision for new technicians and apprentices;
• Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance and servicing equipment;
• Performing equipment demonstrations and drawing up training manuals when required;
• Interpreting drawings, training manuals, and instructions in order to perform duties;
• Attending regular training workshops and reporting to the Manager;
• Must be able to take devices (e.g. inverters) apart and put them back together again;
• Must be able to work with all necessary tools for any potential job and possess a high level of expertise on various electrical, electronic and mechanical systems;
• Must also be able to recognise wiring or device components that require repair or replacement and be able to carry out those tasks;
• Tests and adjusts equipment to ensure that they are in optimal working order;
• Other job duties include communicating with clients, such as instructing them on the safe handling of the device in question and explaining the problems and solutions;
• Be an active member of the technical team;
• Respect the need for confidentiality, when processing personal/customer data;
• Support company-wide initiatives to improve service levels to our customers;
• Utilises continuous improvement mindset and assists in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
