MZ Talent Group is recruiting on behalf of a growing American curriculum school in Basra that is entering a new phase of academic development. The school is seeking a committed and structured Early Years / Grade 1 Teacher who understands child development, U.S. standards, and the importance of building strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional learning.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging, standards-based lessons aligned with the American curriculum. You will create a positive and well-managed classroom environment that supports academic progress and student wellbeing. The role requires strong lesson planning, effective assessment practices, and the ability to track and report on student progress. You will work collaboratively with colleagues and communicate confidently with parents while contributing to the wider development of the elementary phase.

Applicants must hold a Bachelors degree in Education or a related field together with a recognised teaching qualification in U.S. State Teaching License. A minimum of three years experience teaching Early Years or Grade 1 within at an American curriculum school is required. Candidates must demonstrate strong classroom management skills, clear understanding of standards-based planning, and a professional, adaptable approach to working internationally.

The school offers a competitive tax-free salary paid in USD, a one-year renewable contract, shared accommodation (2bd room apartment shared living and kitchen), annual return flights, medical insurance, and full visa support.
