The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) is looking for a Web Developer with a strong background in Java Technologies who possesses application design, development, and implementation skills. Candidate must be very strong in Core Java, Spring boot Framework, jQuery, Web Services (SOAP and Rest Style), Ionic, Angular, Bootstrap, Type Script, Java Script frameworks and knowledge of SQL with a minimum of 5 yrs experience.

Scope of Work:

- Participate with business analysts and development manager in the requirements definition process

- Translate business requirements into viable technical architectures and designs

- Implement the designs (design, code, test, deploy). Support the deployed applications through debugging,

fixing, and maintenance releases.

- Understand the current applications and technical architecture and provide technical and programming

support

- Work with users, contractors, and technical personnel to meet project milestones

- Stay abreast of new technologies and methods to optimize development process

- Advanced understanding of modern software development methodologies.

- Has a thorough understanding of software development lifecycle and the ability to implement software

following the structured approach.

- Very strong organizational, task management and prioritization skills

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

- Ability to work well with peers and all levels of management

- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced, dynamic environment

Required skills:

- Server-side Java Development Experience

- Java 1.8, J2EE, Struts, Spring/SpringBoot, JavaScript Frameworks, Angular, SOAP Web Services, Rest API, Servlets, SQL, JDBC, Unix

- Drupal 8/9 CMS, PHP.

- Strong Experience with Angular, and Microservices

- Spring Boot, Spring MVC and Spring Security are a must.

- Developing Performance-Critical Applications in J2EE

- Well Versed in RDBMS Technology: MySQL Oracle 11g or Higher

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in computer science or management information systems AND five years of related experience.
