Primary Responsibilities
- Administers specialized radiology procedures on patients, ensuring strict adherence to radiation safety protocols.
- Prepare patients for examinations, offering clear procedural explanations, administering contrast agents as necessary, positioning patients accurately, selecting appropriate imaging techniques, and maintaining the quality of resulting images.
- Accurately records and monitors patient data throughout procedures.
- Performs regular quality assurance checks on radiology equipment.
- May assist in the application process for initial and renewed accreditations such as ACR.
- Promptly identifies and reports any accidents, grievances, or equipment malfunctions to departmental management.
- Participates in emergency on-call duties within the department.
- Maintains a secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to all policies and procedures while adhering to budgetary guidelines.
- Effective time management, efficient supply management, and ensuring productivity and service quality.
- Supports personal and professional development by meeting mandatory and ongoing education requirements and maintaining competency in skills.
- Provides guidance and support to less experienced colleagues, serving as a mentor and resource.
- Demonstrates commitment to compassionate and individualized care for every member of the community.
- Upholds service standards by providing safe, empathetic, personalized, and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Certification in Basic or Advanced Life Support. Current or temporary licensure by the Texas Medical Board (MRT) is mandatory. Registration as a Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R).
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
- Capability to lift and/or move patients in collaboration with others to fulfill job requirements.
