Ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our plant utilities is at the heart of this role. As the Utilities Supervisor, you'll oversee essential systems such as Anhydrous Ammonia Refrigeration, Plant Water, Steam Generation, Pneumatic, Fire Protection, and HVAC Systems. Leading a dedicated team of night shift technicians, you'll coordinate schedules, prioritize tasks, and ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold safety and food safety standards, guiding team members and addressing any issues.
  • Provide comprehensive training on utility systems and offer troubleshooting assistance to technicians.
  • Develop and implement efficient onboarding programs and ongoing training initiatives.
  • Utilize CMMS/SAP systems effectively for data management and train others in its usage.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance and repairs, ensuring optimal equipment operation.
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally to meet customer needs and foster positive relationships.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support personnel development.
  • Recommend and implement process improvement projects.
  • Actively participate in the Process Safety Management program and uphold safety protocols.
  • Project a positive attitude and maintain professionalism as a member of the management team.
  • Foster open communication and positive working relationships across departments.
  • Support organizational change initiatives while upholding ethical standards.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in Industrial Refrigeration preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a mechanical/refrigeration-related field, with expertise in ammonia refrigeration processes.
  • Familiarity with utility systems such as Water, Steam, Pneumatics, Fire Protection, and HVAC.
  • Proficiency in CMMS systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with a focus on results.
  • Minimal travel may be required for corporate meetings, training, or vendor visits.
