Position: Machinist

Qualifications:

• Extensive knowledge of machine shop equipment with at least 5 years of experience working with manual lathes, mills, and grinders.
• Strong working knowledge of all types of CNC equipment.
• Prior experience in assembly or fabrication using blueprints.
• A technical degree in Machine Shop is preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work overtime, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and program an NC Mill.
• Proficient in G-code or conversational programming.
• Set up machines and create fixtures for individual parts.
• Determine appropriate speeds and feeds for various materials and tooling.
• Read and interpret standard and metric blueprints, including GD&T.
• Perform quality checks using machine shop measuring instruments (OD/ID micrometers, calipers, depth micrometers, scales, tape measures).
• Apply basic math and geometry skills in machining tasks.
• Experience with programming software such as Esprit or MasterCam is preferred.
• Adhere to safety procedures and regulations.
• Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs for smooth shift transitions.
• Adapt to shifting workloads by transitioning between different machines or job assignments as necessary.
