Overview

The Certified Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the operating room by preparing instruments, equipment, and sterile fields, and by assisting surgeons during procedures. Opportunities are available in both the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) and the Main Operating Room (Main OR). Working under the direction of a Registered Nurse, youll help ensure precision, efficiency, and excellence in every case.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program

Licensure & Certification

• Certified through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Experience

• CVOR Role: Minimum 1 year of Cardiovascular Operating Room experience required

• Main OR Role: Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience required

• Ambulatory Surgery Center experience alone will not be considered

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile fields and surgical instruments before and during procedures

• Assist surgeons and nurses throughout operations, maintaining strict aseptic technique

• Verify supplies, instruments, and equipment availability for each case

• Support efficient case flow and promote patient safety at all times

• Participate in professional development and assist in orienting new team members

• Perform other duties as assigned
