Senior Accountant - Project & Revenue Accounting (Temp)

We are hiring for a Senior Accountant to join a well-established and diversified business group with a strong presence across multiple sectors, including engineering, technology, and services. They are headquartered in Dubai.

This is an urgent requirement for a 4–6 months contract (extendable). We are specifically looking for candidates who are currently based in the UAE and available on their own visa. The preferred candidate would be a CA or semi-CA-qualified accountant. 

Key Responsibilities

Project & Revenue Accounting

• Manage revenue and cost recognition in line with accounting standards and company policies
• Post journal entries related to project accounting, accruals, and adjustments
• Track and reconcile unbilled revenue and deferred income
• Record manpower costs based on timesheets and project allocation

Financial Close & Reporting

• Support month-end close activities and ensure timely reporting
• Perform GL reviews and variance analysis against budgets
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet schedules

Tax & Compliance

• Handle VAT and WHT calculations, filings, and documentation
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and support during audits

Accounts Payable

• Oversee invoice validation (3-way matching), processing, and vendor payments
• Monitor vendor aging and perform supplier reconciliations

Provisions & Inventory

• Post amortization entries and manage provisions (inventory, bad debts, etc.)
• Monitor inventory aging and ensure accurate valuation

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (CA Inter / Semi-qualified CA preferred)
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in project/service-based industries
• Strong knowledge of revenue recognition, VAT, and financial controls
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, JD Edwards)
• Advanced Excel skills (knowledge of Power Query is an advantage)
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail
