Overview

We are seeking a Software Architect with a strong background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to design and enhance service-oriented software architectures for innovative spatial solutions. In this role, you will define the technical direction for cutting-edge GIS applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and seamless integration with modern technologies.Software developers who do not explicitly focus on architecture but focus on GIS can also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect & Design: Lead the design and further development of service-oriented software architectures tailored for advanced GIS solutions.
• Modular Development: Implement modular and reusable GIS software components to support diverse project requirements.
• Geodata Management: Procure, prepare, and convert geospatial data, ensuring accuracy and optimal performance.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to define architectural standards, best practices, and technical roadmaps.
• Innovation: Research and introduce emerging GIS technologies to maintain the competitiveness of our solutions.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Professional experience in software development with a clear focus on GIS.
• In-depth knowledge of GIS platforms such as ESRI ArcGIS, GeoServer, and PostGIS.
• Proven experience in procurement, preparation, and conversion of geodata.
• Strong command of an object-oriented programming language, ideally C#.
• Solid understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA) and REST API design.
• Very good written and spoken English and German skill

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience implementing routing and navigation procedures (on-road/off-road).
• Background in developing automated geodata workflows for large-scale GIS applications.
• Familiarity with QGIS and other open-source GIS tools.

Tools & Frameworks

• ESRI ArcGIS, GeoServer, PostGIS, QGIS
• ASP.NET, REST APIs, and related web technologies
