Position: Advisor for AWG/KrWaffKontrG

Location: Bremen, Germany

Type: Full-time

Tasks:

  • Ensuring communication with all parties involved in the approval process within the framework of the respective approval procedures
  • Planning and handling certifications (e.g., ICT and AEO)
  • Cooperation with the responsible approval authorities (currently: BMWi, AA, BMVg, BAFA)
  • Monitoring boycott and sanctions lists, as well as coordinating with the relevant departments (e.g., compliance) in cases of suspicion
  • Issuing and obtaining end-use declarations and import certificates, as well as monitoring and complying with official regulations
  • Advising specialist departments on how to handle goods subject to approval
  • Approval management, including administration, deadline tracking, modification, renewal, and monitoring of conditions for approvals and other notices
  • Identifying risks in the area of customs and export control, including support in organizing risk minimization
  • Initiating and controlling measures in the event of deviations
  • Participating in the development and improvement of (interface) processes with internal and external stakeholders
  • Participating in the preparation and support of regulatory audits (e.g., foreign trade audits)
  • Regular and continuous review and monitoring of the internal export control system (ICP audit), including the definition of audit criteria and documentation of results
  • Ensuring compliance with the AWG, AWV, and other European and international regulations
  • Supporting applications for permits and other notifications in accordance with the AWG and the EU Dual-Use Regulation
  • Supporting customs clearance, e.g., document coding, advising employees, e.g., on business trips
  • Supporting department management in the further development of the ICP for export control
  • Responsibility for coordinating and managing cooperation with other companies in the area of export control within the division
  • Responsibility for reviewing exports, transfers, services, and technology transfers
  • Promoting digitalization in the department (including improvements in data quality, implementation of process automation, support in the continuous development of digital processes, responsibility for documentation management, establishment of IT solutions)

Requirements:

  • Completed degree in business administration or comparable field
  • Many years of experience in the field of defense technology and good product knowledge of defense technology goods
  • Extensive knowledge of the War Weapons Control Act and Foreign Trade Act, as well as basic knowledge of customs law
  • Very good working knowledge of SAP Module MM and MS Office
  • Business fluent English and German skills (spoken and written)
  • Extensive knowledge of foreign trade law and customs law
  • Basic knowledge of the War Weapons Control Act desirable
  • Knowledge of the Atlassian Tool Chain and SAP GTS
  • Knowledge of export control processes and tools
  • Quick comprehension and analytical thinking
  • Willingness to travel
  • High IT affinity
