Role Overview

The Senior IT Architect is responsible for the conception, development, integration, and testing of cross-service and complex IT solutions in alignment with established service design frameworks. The role includes architectural consulting for business units and clients regarding applications and IT technologies, while ensuring compliance with IT security and data protection regulations.

This position combines enterprise architecture, platform engineering, service lifecycle management, and stakeholder advisory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze complex technical and functional requirements and independently develop implementation strategies and solution approaches
• Design architectural concepts and present solutions to business units and stakeholders
• Plan, extend, and document SharePoint platform components
• Plan, extend, and document application platform components (including server-based platforms)
• Customize and further develop SharePoint and application platform environments
• Contribute to digital transformation initiatives within public-sector environments
• Support and manage IT service lifecycle processes (Incident, Change, Release, Problem Management)
• Create and maintain service-related documentation
• Ensure compliance with IT security standards and data protection requirements
• Work in a structured, service-oriented, and solution-driven manner

Required Qualifications

Education & Professional Background

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related IT discipline
  OR
• Recognized vocational IT qualification
  OR
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in the IT field

Certifications

• ITIL Foundation certification (e.g., ITIL v3 or v4)

Language Requirements

• German C1 (CEFR)
• English B1 (CEFR)

Professional Experience Requirements

The candidate must demonstrate substantial and continuous experience in the following areas:

• Minimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft SharePoint Server Subscription Edition in environments with 10,000+ users
• Minimum 3 years of experience configuring SharePoint Subscription Edition in multi-farm architectures with 10,000+ users
• Minimum 5 years of experience in server infrastructure planning and deployment
• Minimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft IIS server technology
• Minimum 1 year of experience with RabbitMQ on Windows Server
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with Jira

Technical Expertise

• Enterprise-level SharePoint architecture and operations
• Multi-farm SharePoint environments
• Application platform architecture

• Microsoft IIS configuration and optimization
