Senior Expert License Management 

Service Management – Software & Asset Management

Role Overview

The Senior Expert License Management is responsible for ensuring compliant, technically sound, and commercially optimized software licensing within a complex IT service environment.

The role acts as a key interface between business units, customers, and the internal Software Asset Management (SAM) operations team. The position focuses on evaluating licensing requirements, translating business needs into standardized SAM service components, and ensuring high service quality in accordance with IT service management standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support Software Asset Management (SAM) requirement consulting, proposal creation, and service description development
  • Capture and analyze customer requirements and translate them into structured SAM service modules
  • Act as the official representative of the SAM service in internal and external meetings
  • Provide advisory support regarding SAM service scope, licensing models, and optimization strategies
  • Contribute to internal SAM projects aimed at continuous service improvement and efficiency enhancement
  • Coordinate and support documentation activities in alignment with ITIL-based standards
  • Ensure compliance with agreed service quality requirements in terms of:
    • Utility (functional performance)
    • Warranty (service level compliance)
  • Support demand estimation and effort evaluation for new service requirements
  • Ensure alignment between licensing strategy and IT service delivery processes

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a comparable qualification
    OR minimum 5 years of professional IT experience
  • ITIL Foundation Certification (v3 or v4)
  • German language proficiency at C1 level (CEFR standard)

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in IT Service Management within complex IT environments
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM)
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in IT Service Delivery processes and ITIL-based service environments
  • Proven experience working in structured service organizations with defined service modules and SLAs

All required experience must reflect continuous and substantial professional engagement in the respective subject areas.
