SAP FICO Developer

Location: Hybrid/Laatzen (Germany)
Contract Type: Fixed-term or Employee Leasing
Duration: 18 months (extension possible)
Department: SAP Development Finance and Controlling (FI/CO)

Position Overview

The SAP FICO Developer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining financial and controlling processes within an SAP environment.
The role focuses on modernizing and optimizing financial IT systems that support large-scale enterprise operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain applications in the SAP FI/CO modules (Finance & Controlling).
• Analyze functional and technical requirements and translate them into SAP solutions.
• Implement enhancements, interfaces, reports, and custom developments using ABAP and ABAP OO.
• Integrate SAP FI/CO processes with other modules (MM, SD, HCM, etc.).
• Ensure high-quality documentation and adherence to established development standards.
• Conduct testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with functional consultants, administrators, and business users.
• Provide 2nd- and 3rd-level application support and assist in deployment and transition activities.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in SAP development within the FI/CO area.
• Solid knowledge of ABAP, ABAP OO, and enhancement frameworks (BAdIs, User Exits, Enhancement Points).
• Experience with interfaces such as IDoc, RFC, BAPI, and OData services.
• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA and Fiori UI5 is an advantage.
• Understanding of accounting and controlling processes (FI, CO-PA, CO-OM).
• Experience with test management and unit testing.
• Working knowledge of German (B2 or higher) and English (professional proficiency).
• Structured, analytical, and detail-oriented working style.
