Role Overview

As a Network Security Engineer, you will be a vital component of our team, focusing on the fortification of our network against evolving threats. Your role involves a comprehensive approach to security, including managing firewalls, VPN access, event management, and securing public connectivity. You'll translate program-level security requirements into actionable strategies for our infrastructure, ensuring alignment with architects and the broader security team to integrate these strategies seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement high-level security designs from architectural plans, leading implementation efforts with exemplary engineering skills.
Manage and troubleshoot security systems, including updates, upgrades, and vendor support.
Collaborate with the automation team to automate security policies and responses to incidents.
Maintain an agile feedback loop with architects and engineers, ensuring security measures are robust and adaptable.

Must-Have Skills

General: High-level design creation, leadership in security engineering, troubleshooting, update/upgrade management, vendor liaison, change control understanding, agile collaboration.
Firewalls: Expertise in Palo Alto (virtual and physical), Panorama, Fortinet UTM Firewalls, FortiManager, Linux host-based firewalls (firewalld, ufw, iptables, eBPF), and routing protocols (BGP).
VPN: Secure IPSec VPN solutions (GlobalConnect, FortiClient), certificate design/management.
DDI: Infoblox Grid, Bind, DNS RFC standards, DNSSEC.
Automation: Orchestration workflow design, DevOps methodologies, and tools.
Documentation: Workflow documentation, professional design and implementation documentation, templating standard configurations, proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and Miro.
Language: Fluent in English (C1 level).

Nice-to-Have Skills

Fluent in German (B2 level).
