Position: IT Project Manager

Location: Bonn, Munich Germany

Department: CDO CoE PM ISP 3 Infrastructure Services Projects
Location: Germany (hybrid 40% remote)
Security Clearance: Not required

Role Overview:

As a Project Manager (P8) within the Center of Excellence for Project Management, you will support and coordinate complex IT infrastructure and service projects, particularly those related to decentralized and centralized infrastructure in both the German Armed Forces and internal BWI environments. You will work closely with project leaders and technical teams to ensure projects meet quality, timeline, and budget objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support project execution for complex IT infrastructure and service projects

  • Conduct project controlling with a focus on deadlines, milestones, and costs

  • Coordinate dependencies, changes, and risks across project planning

  • Establish and manage change and requirements management processes

  • Assist project leaders with special topics and strategic initiatives

  • Maintain project plans, status reports, meeting minutes, communication logs, absence lists, and deputy arrangements

  • Organize regular communications and coordinate meeting schedules

  • Manage and structure the digital project filing and documentation system

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Completed degree in (Business) Informatics or another IT field 
  • Recognized vocational IT training with at least 6 years of professional IT experience

️ Languages:

  • German: C1 level (CEFR)

  • English: Beneficial, but not required

Certifications:

  • Project management certification:

    • IPMA Level C, PMI PMP, or PRINCE2 Practitioner

    • Agile certifications preferred: Scrum PSM / PSPO or PMI CAPM

Tools & Systems:

  • Proficient in:

    • MS Project, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio

    • JIRA, SharePoint

Professional Experience:

  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in:

    • Managing or coordinating mid-to-large scale IT projects

    • Working within a PMO environment

    • Applying classical and agile project management methods

  • 2+ years of experience in risk, change, and requirements management; team leadership; and presenting complex topics

Soft Skills (Assessed via Interview):

  • Strong communication and team collaboration

  • Initiative, independence, and sound decision-making

  • Structured, solution- and goal-oriented working style

  • Reliability and ability to coordinate own and others' work effectively
