Job Title: Senior GMS Certification Engineer Android Devices

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced GMS (Google Mobile Services) Certification Engineer to take full ownership of the certification process for Android devices, from initial planning through to final approval. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience with the entire GMS certification workflow, including pre-certification preparation, test execution, troubleshooting, documentation, and coordination with Google and certification labs.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the complete GMS certification process for Android mobile devices, including CTS, GTS, VTS, and STS testing.

• Prepare devices and builds for testing, ensuring compliance with GMS requirements and Googles Compatibility Definition Document (CDD).

• Plan and execute all necessary tests to meet GMS certification standards, identifying and resolving any failures.

• Collaborate with internal engineering, QA, and product teams to address test failures and implement fixes.

• Coordinate with Googles GMS team and authorized test labs to schedule and monitor test execution.

• Maintain detailed documentation of certification activities, including test reports, failure analysis, and resolution steps.

• Ensure that project timelines and release schedules align with certification deadlines.

• Stay updated on the latest GMS requirements, Android OS updates, and Google compliance changes.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers involved in certification-related tasks.

Requirements

• Proven track record of managing the end-to-end GMS certification process for Android devices.

• Strong knowledge of Android architecture, GMS components, and certification tools (CTS, GTS, VTS, STS).

• Experience working with Googles certification teams and authorized labs.

• Solid understanding of the Compatibility Definition Document (CDD) and Android Compatibility Program.

• Proficiency with Android build systems, debugging tools, and test automation.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.

• Bachelors degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with device certification beyond GMS (e.g., PTCRB, GCF, carrier IOT).

• Experience in Android development, system integration, or QA engineering.

• Knowledge of telecom protocols and device compliance requirements
