Tasks:
- Developing electromechanical components, assemblies, and, in some cases, simple segments in line with requirements and manufacturing specifications, within the quality, time, and cost framework, using CAD tools by:
- Analyzing the overarching requirements and creating the 3D implementation concept
- Developing manufacturing-oriented design solutions, taking into account the reuse of existing components
- Supporting the estimation of development and manufacturing costs for the unit in question
- Designing and selecting suitable standard and purchased parts for the unit in question
- Coordinating interfaces with other internal departments and externally with suppliers and customers
- Co-decision-making in the selection of manufacturing suppliers and supporting the procurement process as a technical contact person
- Technical review of the created, standard-compliant technical product specification
- Execution of product data processing in SAP PLM
- Management of subcontractors commissioned with development and/or manufacturing
- Planning, management, and supervision of integration activities for the initial product
- Participation in qualification and acceptance by the customer for the unit for which you are responsible
- Performing requested checks and tests for the unit for which you are responsible during development (engineering tests)
- Supporting and technically reviewing external customer documentation for the unit for which you are responsible
- Preparing the unit for which you are responsible for series production, including preparatory work for testing and series production start-up
- Assisting with the processing of quotations
Requirements:
- Completed bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, precision engineering, mechatronics, or a comparable field
- Initial design experience in mechanical or plant engineering
- Initial professional experience in 3D CAD design (preferably Siemens NX)
- Good knowledge of SAP PLM
- Understanding of mechanical engineering, optics, and electrical engineering
- Good knowledge of design/mechanics/materials engineering
- Good knowledge of MS Windows and MS Office applications
- Good written and spoken English and German
- Time- and cost-oriented approach to work
- Creativity and reliability
- Willingness to work in an interdisciplinary team
- High organizational skills, even under pressure
- Structured, goal-oriented, and independent approach to work
- High level of commitment and initiative

Areas of responsibility/key topics:
- Development of electromechanical components and assemblies in 3D CAD
- Analysis of the task/requirements, e.g., for the installation space or device/assembly interfaces
- Creation of 3D implementation concepts, including validation (e.g., using 3D printing) through to series production readiness
- Design and selection of standard and purchased parts (e.g., screws, bearings, motors, gears, etc.) as well as materials and material combinations
- Coordination of interfaces with adjacent departments (e.g., cable or conductor development)
- Review of construction documents (drawings and parts lists)

- The integration work for the first device/system
- Tests and inspections during development (engineering tests, e.g., shock, vibration)

Knowledge and qualifications:
- Enthusiasm for mechanical engineering with an interest in optics and electrical engineering as interfaces to design tasks
- Good knowledge of design, technical mechanics, and materials engineering
- Initial design experience in mechanical or plant engineering in CAD design (preferably Siemens NX)
