Position: Software Developer Databases & Web Applications

Location: Mannheim, Germany

Your tasks in the area of databases:

• Design, implementation, and further development of new database applications (e.g., for research and industrial projects)
• Configuration and installation of existing databases and database applications (e.g., OMEKA instances for digital objects)
• Expansion and adaptation of individual database functions
• Execution of data migrations, release changes, and updates

Your tasks in the area of web applications:

• Development and further development of web applications (frontend & backend)
• Creation and design of websites and templates for content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Typo3)
• Prototyping and implementation of interactive elements, navigation and user interfaces
• Creation, editing, and optimization of multimedia content for the website
• Development of web applications with JavaScript, PHP, and Python
• Testing, validating, and ensuring the functionality of web solutions

Requirements:

• Completed degree in computer science or comparable qualification
• Very good knowledge of common programming languages (JavaScript, PHP, Python)
• In-depth knowledge of UNIX, relational databases, and SQL
• Experience with CMS (WordPress, Typo3)
• Experience in designing, developing, and testing database and web applications
• Ability to work independently, conceptually, and in a structured manner
• Creative thinking, technical understanding, and enthusiasm for innovative solutions
