We are seeking a skilled Drayage Freight Broker with strong experience in carrier sales and logistics coordination to join our growing team. You will play a key role in managing freight movements, building carrier relationships, and ensuring seamless execution from pickup through delivery. Your work will directly impact service reliability, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily drayage and freight operations, ensuring accurate and timely execution of shipments from pickup to delivery
- Source, negotiate, and manage carrier relationships while securing competitive rates aligned with market conditions
- Post loads on platforms such as DAT and Truckstop and respond to carrier inquiries efficiently
- Verify load details including appointments, equipment type, commodity, and special requirements before dispatch
- Dispatch carriers with complete instructions and ensure all tracking tools (Macropoint, Project44, Trucker Tools) are active
- Monitor shipments in transit, perform check calls, and proactively resolve delays or service disruptions
- Maintain proactive communication with customers, providing updates on pickup, transit, and delivery status
Must-Have Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in freight brokerage, drayage, or logistics coordination
- Proven experience in drayage or port logistics operations
- Proven experience in carrier sales and sourcing capacity in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of TMS systems and load boards such as DAT and Truckstop
- Experience with tracking platforms (Macropoint, Project44, Trucker Tools or similar)
- Solid understanding of carrier compliance (FMCSA, insurance verification, broker-carrier agreements)
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish (written and verbal)
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage exceptions such as delays, breakdowns, and missed appointments
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with U.S. logistics market and time zones
- Ability to manage high-volume shipment boards with strong attention to detail
- Experience handling documentation such as BOLs, PODs, and accessorials within a TMS
- KPI-driven mindset with focus on on-time performance, tracking compliance, and customer responsiveness
