We are seeking a skilled L1 Systems Operations (SysOps) Engineer with hands-on experience in Linux and Windows environments and a strong foundation in DevOps practices to join our growing team. You will play a key role in monitoring production systems, responding to incidents, and supporting controlled software deployments. Your work will directly impact system uptime, operational efficiency, and the stability of mission-critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor production and internal systems 24/7 using established monitoring tools; triage alerts and manage incident tickets through resolution or escalation.
- Execute documented SOPs and runbooks for common operational events, including service restarts, credential rotations, failover checks, and diagnostics.
- Perform ticket triage in Jira (categorization, prioritization, log/metric gathering, first-response fixes within permission boundaries).
- Support controlled software releases and deployments using GitHub, including pre-checks, validation, and rollback procedures.
- Administer and maintain Linux (Ubuntu/Debian) and Windows servers in hybrid environments.
- Manage basic cloud operations in AWS and Azure environments.
- Maintain accurate operational documentation, including runbooks, shift handoffs, and post-incident reports.
- Participate in on-call rotation and ensure seamless shift transitions.
- Provide occasional on-site IT and infrastructure support (e.g., workstation setup, connectivity troubleshooting).
- Implement and follow security best practices in systems administration.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in operations, NOC, helpdesk, sysadmin, or IT support roles (or equivalent hands-on experience).
- Practical experience administering Linux (Debian/Ubuntu preferred) and Windows servers/workstations, including services, logs, networking fundamentals, and access management.
- Experience using ticketing systems (preferably Jira) and executing SOPs/runbooks.
- Familiarity with Git workflows and release management processes (preferably GitHub).
- Working knowledge of cloud environments (AWS and Azure preferred; GCP acceptable) and virtualization technologies (KVM/VMware).
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure systems administration best practices.
- Ability to multitask and troubleshoot effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work shift schedules (24/7 operations) and participate in on-call rotations.
- Strong written English communication skills.

- Prior experience in a startup or high-growth technology environment.
- Exposure to structured change-control processes and compliance-driven environments.
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud and on-premise infrastructure environments.
Additional Requirements
- On-site role based in Panama City, Panama (no remote work available).
- Must be willing to complete a background check and drug test as part of the hiring process.
