We are seeking a skilled Accounting / AP / AR / Collections Team Member with strong communication, organization, and follow-up skills to join our growing accounting department. You will play a key role in managing accounts receivable, accounts payable coordination, collections communication, and payment processing across multiple related entities within our freight and transportation operations. Your work will directly impact cash flow management, vendor relationships, operational efficiency, and overall financial accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the accounting department with applying and reconciling customer payments accurately across multiple entities
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding past due balances, payment follow-ups, and account status updates
- Coordinate with vendors regarding payables, disputed invoices, and billing discrepancies
- Work closely with internal team members to obtain approvals and resolve payable-related issues
- Utilize transportation management software systems and Intuit Enterprise / QuickBooks-related platforms for daily accounting operations
- Run and review customer credit reports to support account management and credit decisions
- Support additional back-office accounting and administrative tasks as assigned by leadership
- Maintain organized records, prioritize tasks independently, and follow through on responsibilities without requiring reminders
Must-Have Qualifications
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Experience in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), collections, bookkeeping, or accounting support roles
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines confidently
- Experience using QuickBooks, Intuit Enterprise products, or similar accounting systems
- Ability to handle customer and vendor communications with professionalism, respect, and attention to detail
- Self-starter mentality with strong follow-up habits and accountability
- Comfortable working remotely and collaborating through Microsoft Teams and other communication tools
- Experience working in logistics, freight, transportation, or multi-entity business environments is a plus
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with transportation management systems (TMS)
- Prior experience supporting U.S.-based companies remotely
- Familiarity with credit reporting and collections processes
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
