We are seeking a skilled AWS/Kubernetes Migration Engineer with deep experience in cloud-native architectures and large-scale Kubernetes migrations to join our growing team. You will play a key role in leading the migration of production workloads from GKE to AWS EKS, ensuring reliability, scalability, and zero downtime. Your work will directly impact platform stability, event-driven performance, and long-term infrastructure automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute end-to-end migration of Kubernetes clusters from GKE to AWS EKS with zero downtime.
- Develop migration architecture, including service dependency mapping and phased cutover strategies.
- Implement and manage AWS services such as EKS, EventBridge, SNS, SQS, ElastiCache, S3, and CloudFront.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Terramate across multiple environments.
- Configure auto-scaling strategies to handle high-volume, event-driven traffic.
- Create and maintain infrastructure automation scripts to support repeatable, reliable deployments.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure application compatibility and performance post-migration.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Proven experience migrating Kubernetes workloads between cloud providers (GKE to EKS).
- Strong hands-on expertise with AWS EKS and event-driven services (EventBridge, SNS, SQS).
- Advanced experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Terramate.
- Deep understanding of container orchestration at scale and multi-environment deployments.
- Experience designing zero-downtime migration procedures for production systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience optimizing Kubernetes clusters for cost and performance in AWS.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for Kubernetes-based deployments.
- Background in high-throughput, event-driven architectures.
- AWS certifications or Kubernetes-related certifications (CKA, CKAD).
