We are seeking a skilled Track & Trace Specialist with strong import and export shipment monitoring experience to join our growing team. You will play a key role in maintaining real-time visibility into cargo movement by tracking vessel ETAs, container availability, and critical cutoff milestones. Your work will directly impact operational efficiency, proactive issue resolution, and high-quality customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and confirm shipment details including ETA, vessel information, container size, terminal data, LFD, ERD, and cutoff times for import and export shipments.
  • Track import container availability and holds at scheduled intervals using terminal and vessel-tracking platforms, prioritizing high-accuracy sources such as NY/NJ terminals.
  • Track export ERD and cutoff updates and communicate any changes that may impact scheduling or compliance.
  • Prepare and maintain daily tracking spreadsheets by highlighting schedules, filtering priority shipments, cleaning data, and ensuring accuracy and usability.
  • Create new orders from customer pre-alerts prior to Delivery Order issuance and update orders once DOs are received.
  • Use carrier, Steamship Line, and terminal websites to validate and cross-check ETA and vessel data, adjusting records as discrepancies arise.
  • Document all updates in internal schedules and notify load managers of significant shipment changes to support decision-making.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including filtering, formatting, and data cleanup.
  • Hands-on experience using terminal and Steamship Line tracking tools (e.g., APM, Maher, PNCT, ShipmentLink, CMA Voyage Finder, Hapag Vessel Tracker, MSC, ONE).
  • Solid understanding of import and export logistics timelines, including ETA, LFD, ERD, cutoff, and container availability cycles.
  • Strong attention to detail when validating data across multiple systems.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for internal reporting and updates.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience tracking shipments through NY/NJ terminals.
  • Familiarity with hazardous cargo (HAZ) export requirements and port booking validations.
  • Prior experience supporting load managers or operations teams in freight forwarding or logistics environments.

This role is critical to ensuring accurate, timely shipment visibility across import and export operations, enabling proactive communication, efficient order preparation, and smooth cargo movement for customers and internal teams.
