About the job Excavator Operator

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operates heavy machinery
  • Performs general maintenance on machinery, specifically a Bobcat E55 and Bobcat 337
  • Properly keeps dig secure
  • Adheres to OSHA regulations
  • Removes debris such as rocks, tree stumps and other materials from construction sites
  • Grades trenches for laying sewer lines
  • Adapts efficiently and make fast dissensions with the excavator
  • Excavates around other utilities such as waterlines, electrical lines and gas lines

Required Attributes:

  • Knowledge on how to call in locates on job sites
  • Basic understanding of construction and engineering to be able to operate machinery safely
  • Basic understanding of hydraulics, electrical systems and other mechanical components to be able to troubleshoot issues as they arise
  • Effectively work outdoors in both hot and cold weather conditions
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors
  • Able to listen to instructions and ask clarifying questions
  • Able to give and receive feedback from team members
  • Clean background and driving record
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
  • Sense of humor

Education & Experience:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: At least one (1) year of excavation experience
