Position Overview:

This position is accountable for the day-to-day availability and reliability of the facility and equipment. Lead maintenance activities to ensure safe, effective, efficient, continuous plant operation through proactive maintenance and reliability, risk analysis, and assessment. Minimize scheduled and unscheduled downtimes, and approach maintenance as an investment to reduce costs over the long run. Provide expertise, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Preforms day-to-day preventative maintenance to ensure facility and machine throughput.
  • Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
  • Provides maintenance strategy to proactively increase asset availability reduce downtime and lower maintenance cost by addressing the root cause of asset failure before significant problems occur.
  • Assesses building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules.
  • Develops maintenance procedures and schedules.
  • Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and promptly
  • Assures credibility of the maintenance functions by meeting committed downtimes, turning equipment over those functions properly, providing information as needed, and fostering a data-driven organization.
  • Oversees Pre-PMs and Kitting/Staging activities to be thorough, effective, and efficient to promote successfully planned maintenance downtimes.
  • Conducts routine audits of maintenance execution work to review GMP (good manufacturing practice) adherence, completeness, work order accuracy, time allotment, and sponsor and promote 5S housekeeping.
  • Utilizes problem-solving techniques including Plan Do Check Act to solve problems to root cause, implement actions that prevent re-occurrence, improve operations, etc.
  • Adheres to maintenance budget by managing monthly spending to the given forecast, lower maintenance spends from previous year month to month, and explain variances as requested.
  • Manages maintenance inventory, critical spare parts, by adjusting min/max levels appropriately, maintaining the items, reducing inventory, when possible, etc.
  • Oversees and support design and process changes, installations, troubleshooting, completing repairs, and providing data to improve maintenance and reliability processes.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Attributes:

  • Working knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, mechanical electrical, plant equipment, PLC programming, and HVAC.
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Knowledge of computerized maintenance management system.
  • Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance.
  • Sense of humor.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least five years of maintenance experience is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
