Description

JustNLife.com is seeking passionate, driven individuals for a 6-month unpaid hybrid Event Photography Internship. This hands-on role involves capturing compelling images at both company-led and industry events to support our editorial content and storytelling.

Interns will work with our Editorial and Marketing teams to enhance visual narratives and curate daily social media posts during downtime. If you lack strong social media skills, this may not be the right fit. This role offers a chance to build your portfolio and gain hands-on experience in digital media and visual journalism.

Responsibilities

Event Photography: Capture high-quality images at company and industry events, documenting key moments, interviews, and behind-the-scenes shots to enhance editorial content.

Collaboration with Editorial Team: Work with writers and editors to understand visual needs and brainstorm creative ideas for each story.

Editing and Enhancement: Edit photos using industry-standard software to meet publication style and ensure visual consistency.

Social Media Curation: Curate engaging social media content with Canva, aligning with brand messaging and boosting audience engagement.

Industry Awareness: Stay informed on trends and visual storytelling techniques to elevate content.

Deadline Management: Meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality, creative visual content.

Flexibility: Attend events, conduct off-camera interviews, and travel as needed to capture relevant content.

Requirements

• Demonstrated proficiency in photography, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse styles, composition, and lighting techniques.

• In-depth knowledge of photography equipment and accessories.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Familiarity with photo editing tools.

• Basic graphic design skills and knowledge of content creation tools (e.g., Canva) is a must.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

• Must meet deadlines

• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.

• Must have reliable transportation to attend off-site events

• Previous experience as a photojournalist, with a focus on event photography, preferably in a digital media environment.
  
• Local to Chicago is a must!
