Electrical Engineer – London

A well-established engineering business is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the maintenance and reliability of electrical systems within an industrial and production setting in London. This role will involve fault finding, planned maintenance, repairs, and supporting the continuous operation of equipment and site infrastructure.
This would suit an engineer who enjoys hands-on problem solving, working in a fast-paced environment, and helping to improve equipment performance and site reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical systems and plant equipment
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs to minimise operational downtime
- Supporting the maintenance of control panels, motors, drives, lighting, and site distribution systems
- Assisting with breakdown response and root cause investigation
- Supporting installation work, upgrades, and continuous improvement activities
- Ensuring maintenance records and job documentation are completed accurately
- Working in accordance with site safety procedures and electrical standards
- Liaising with maintenance teams, supervisors, and production personnel as required
Requirements
- Previous experience in an Electrical Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or similar position
- Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance skills
- Experience within manufacturing, industrial, production, or plant environments would be advantageous
- Good understanding of health and safety and safe isolation procedures
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider engineering team
- Relevant electrical qualifications such as NVQ, City & Guilds, 18th Edition, or equivalent
- Experience with control systems or PLC fault finding would be beneficial, though not essential
