Position Summary

To gather diagnostic data from specific neurological examinations for physician interpretation. To extract from patient charts, patients' family members any and all pertinent data and information which will assist the physician in the interpretation of the data acquired.

Position Responsibilities

  • Performance of electroencephalographic (routine, video, and portable) and evoked potential recordings. Assist physicians with EMGs/NCV.
    • Performed according to policy and procedure.
  • Performance of standard calibrations, montages, and modified montages for quality recordings.
    • Modified montages, in addition to standard montages, to the particular clinical circumstances, including but not limited to the addition of electrodes and devising appropriate recording techniques.
    • Performs calibration at the beginning of every recording
    • Records standard montages for both adult and pediatric patients
  • Performance of record archiving.
    • Prepares and burns compact discs for storage of digital EEGs.
    • Log all digital data in the appropriate log book.
  • Maintenance of departmental documentation.
    • Enters charges/credits into Care Connection in a timely manner.
    • Maintains daily log sheets
    • Assign each recording a procedure number in the appropriate log book.
    • Files report when completed
    • Assists in the collection of Process Improvement data.
    • Collaborate on research projects with other staff members and neurologists
  • Maintenance of EEG lab/supplies.
    • Order supplies from General Stores
    • Order supplies from outside vendors using Lawson
    • Order office supplies from Corporate Express
    • Keep EEG Lab/work area clean.
    • Promotes patient safety by reporting issues through established channels and participating as requested in safety initiatives.
  • Professional /Personal Growth Activities.
    • Attends one conference/meeting/seminar per year in area of specialty
    • Reviews and shares current literature with other associates
    • Performs the orientation and clinical education of EEG Students
    • Completes all mandatory in-services as documented
    • Participated in external professional activities and organizations related to EEG
    • Accepts membership on committees as assigned
    • Serves as a resource person for other associates regarding EEG and neurodiagnostic testing

Education/Experience Required

  • High school education 6 months -1 year formal EEG/EP training and 3-4 years EEG/EP



Salary

  • $24.65- $36.65
    • $10,000 Sign On Bonus for Full-Time
    • $5,000 Sign On Bonus for Part-Time
