Key Role Responsibilities

The Business Analyst will work on small change and projects and will be responsible for the following across the core systems landscape:

  • Small Change and Projects
  • Working with the users to identify their needs
  • Creating worked examples, mock-ups, test cases or similar to help users understand their requirements and potential solution options
  • Performing hands-on system or data analysis to identify changes (e.g. to usage, to configuration or to class-event)
  • Documenting system change requests through a JIRA backlog of epics / user-stories
  • Working with other members of the IT Delivery Team to breakdown and estimate changes
  • Running prioritisation and status update meetings with other IT teams and users
  • Working as functional expert as part of the IT delivery team during development and testing
  • Tracking and chasing actions with other teams across IT and the business
  • Performing functional testing and working with QA to create test plans/scripts for SIT and regression
  • Running training and UAT
  • Supporting release planning and go-live
  • Creating user documentation
  • Hypercare and 3rd Line Support
  • Helping users hands-on with questions and 3rd line Support
  • Working with IT Support to analyse problems, identify root causes and escalate fixes into the small change backlog

Key Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in numerate subject or equivalent professional qualification
  • 5 years experience as an IT Business Analyst or Application Support Analyst focussed on ETRM systems within a trading house, investment bank, or through a tier-1 vendor/consultancy
  • Experience of Commodities Trading (preferably including Freight or similar)
  • Experience working with the IMOS application
  • Extensive experience working with an ETRM application (such as Allegro Horizon, Endur, Aspect, Enuit)
  • Experience analysing trade data using analytical tools such as SQL, PowerQuery, Excel
