    Location: On-Site, Katy, TX

  • Job Summary

The Tool and Die Maker is responsible for setting up and operating machine tools to repair and manufacture plastic molds, ensuring production goals are met. This facility has 400 injection and blow molds, which are routinely serviced. This role requires expertise in machining methods, blueprint reading, and mold repair techniques.

SHIFTS:

  • Sunday thru Wednesday 5:30 AM—4 PM (Morning)
  • Sunday Thru Wednesday 3:45 PM—2:15 PM (Night)
  • Wednesday thru Saturday 5:30 AM—4 PM (Morning)
  • Wednesday thru Saturday 3:45 PM—2:15 PM (Night)
  • Requirements & Qualifications to Get Job
    • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in tool and die making for plastic molding.
    • Ability to program CNC (HAAS mill & lathe, and prototrack machines etc.)
    • Ability to read blueprints / CAD
    • Familiar with plastic characteristics and machining methods & able to troubleshoot mold repairs
    • Proficiency in basic math, including fractions, decimals, and unit conversions (English & Metric).
    • Able to use basic hand tools (hammers, screwdrivers, tape measures, drills, etc.).
    • Must have strong attention to detail for inspecting equipment and verifying specifications.
    • Must be able to safely operate heavy machinery with awareness of surroundings at all times.
    • 18 years or older and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
    • Able to communicate in English
    • High school diploma / GED
    • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to: eye & hearing protection, gloves, steel-toed boots, hard hat, and flame retardant work clothes, etc.
    • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. & work in varying environmental conditions (heat, dust, noise, vibration, humidity).
  • Preferences to Get Job
    • Technical school and/or certification
    • Journeymen (for Master Tool & Die Roles)
    • Ability to weld (TIG for Master Tool & Die Roles)
    • Able to train entry-level Tool & Die (For Master Tool & Die Roles)
  • What you do on Job
    • Set up and operate machine tools to fabricate and repair molds and metalworking tools.
    • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and CAD files to ensure precision manufacturing.
    • Perform mold repairs, including disassembly, inspection, welding, polishing, machining, and reassembly.
    • Manufacture new plastic molds, selecting appropriate materials & using CNC mills, lathes, grinders, & EDM machines.
    • Conduct heat treatment and surface coating for durability.
    • Perform final assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of molds before production.
    • Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with company protocols.
    • Follow all company safety policies and procedures and assist other processes as directed by the supervisor.
