Senior CAD / BIM Coordinator – Energy Distribution Sector

We are seeking an experienced Senior CAD / BIM Coordinator to lead drafting production, CAD standards, BIM coordination and technical documentation within the energy distribution sector.

This is a critical senior role requiring someone who understands the unique standards, assets, documentation and delivery environment of electricity distribution networks. While Sydney-based candidates are preferred, outstanding applicants located anywhere in Australia will be considered.

The Role

You will take ownership of CAD and BIM operations across network infrastructure projects, ensuring documentation quality, efficient workflows and compliance with engineering and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce and review complex technical drawings for electrical distribution infrastructure
• Prepare design and construction documentation packages
• Manage CAD workflows, templates, standards and drawing governance
• Lead Revit / BIM coordination across multidisciplinary projects
• Oversee model integration, clash detection and technical coordination
• Mentor junior drafters and technical team members
• Troubleshoot CAD and BIM production issues
• Administer AutoCAD / Revit environments including updates, libraries and configurations
• Support engineers, project managers and delivery teams through all project phases
• Drive continuous improvement in documentation systems and delivery processes

Mandatory Experience

• Previous experience working in the energy distribution / electricity network sector is essential
• Strong understanding of utility network assets, substations, overhead / underground distribution infrastructure and related documentation standards
• Experience supporting electrical infrastructure design teams

About You

• Proven background in Senior Drafter, CAD Coordinator, BIM Coordinator or similar role
• Advanced AutoCAD capability
• Strong Revit / BIM coordination experience
• Ability to manage standards and lead technical documentation delivery
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills
• High attention to detail and quality focus
