Role Purpose

The Inventory Team Manager is responsible for leading and managing the inventory function within the Brisbane Distribution Centre, along with managing the key warehouse systems and processes. The individual will work closely with leaders in the site as well as network contacts to provide accurate and genuine customer service.

The role will be responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy, and integrity within the site, along with managing and maintaining the site warehouse management systems. The position requires a high level of communication skills, leadership skills and personal drive to deliver on our SLAs and provide great customer service.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRA)

Inventory Operations

  • Ensure effective stock management, cycle counting, and replenishment processes are undertaken
  • Ensure inventory adjustments are undertaken through a documented process
  • Ensure timely investigations of pick errors and shortages
  • Ensure damaged stock is documented and disposed of appropriately
  • Analysis of stock picking and replenishment activities within the distribution centre

Team Management

  • Lead the Inventory team effectively to achieve daily output requirements
  • Drive positive and high achieving work culture within the Inventory team
  • Ensure teams are engaged, trained appropriately, and are allocated the resources and tools needed to fulfill their functions, proactively providing feedback
  • Ensure team commitment to improving inventory accuracy and integrity
  • Attend and provide input at site team leadership meetings

Reporting

  • Manage and maintain warehouse management system
  • Prepare and deliver regular reports to management
  • Provide input into, and meet targets for KPI reporting

WHS

  • Take proactive action to ensure that WHS practices and policies are in place to provide a safe environment for all team members, and adhere to legislative requirements, company expectations and other safety initiative.
  • Visibly show commitment to WHS through participation in formal and informal discussions, workplaces visits and monthly audits
  • Ensure timely completion of all Safety Checklists within jurisdiction

Other:

  • Understand and demonstrate behaviour in accordance with all Company policies and procedures, including Code of Conduct, Discrimination, Bullying and EEO and all applicable laws whilst ensuring continual compliance with relevant legislation relevant to the role including WHS.
  • Ensure a proactive approach to housekeeping and warehouse improvement in accordance with GPC Asia Pacific standard requirements
  • Required to be available as the DCs After-Hours Emergency Contact
  • All other tasks as directed by Manager

Role Requirements

Knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, qualifications

Essential

Desirable

Licence to operate applicable MHE

Relevant Supply Chain / Warehousing qualifications

Experience managing and maintaining warehouse management systems

Experience managing an inventory function within a warehouse

Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal

Great attention to detail

Ability to identify problems and provide recommendations for solutions
