A. Role - Principal Product Specialist

This role is responsible for shaping and executing the technical pre-sales strategy across the Southeast Asia region, supporting both existing and prospective customers in the life sciences sector. The individual will collaborate with internal stakeholders, channel partners, and customers to design optimal system solutions and lead customer-facing engagements from discovery through implementation. In addition to technical expertise, the role requires the ability to drive project planning and cross-functional coordination to ensure successful solution delivery.

B. Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve or exceed assigned sales and order targets.

  • Partner with sales teams to identify technical leads and new market opportunities.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers and thought leaders across discovery, genomics, and cell and gene therapy domains.

  • Maintain accurate records of customer activity and pipeline opportunities in CRM tools.

  • Submit regular sales activity and territory updates through internal reporting channels.

  • Represent the company at industry events, technical seminars, and scientific forums to promote product applications and innovation.

  • Provide detailed product knowledge and support for quotations and solution configurations.

  • Deliver post-sales application training and ongoing technical assistance to clients.

  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to execute promotional campaigns that increase market reach.

  • Influence purchase decisions by building trust and demonstrating product value.

  • Stay informed on competitor products and market trends.

  • Demonstrate and uphold company values through all interactions and conduct.

C. Required Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Biomedicine, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or equivalent field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience in Reagents and Genomics.

  • Background in drug screening, NGS, or functional genomics is advantageous.

  • Familiarity with techniques such as ELISA, PCR, HTRF, sample extraction, and cell/animal imaging (training available if needed).

  • Prior experience in regional roles across ASEAN is preferred.

Technical & Soft Skills:

  • Expertise in cell culture, proteomics, and/or genomics.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across functions and geographies.

  • Willingness to travel frequently within the region.

D. Stakeholder Relationships

Internal:

  • Regional leadership, commercial teams, product and service teams, and shared services.

External:

  • Clients, prospective customers, regulatory bodies, funding agencies, and scientific advisors.

E. Working Conditions

  • Must hold a valid drivers license for regional travel.

  • Comfortable working in laboratory or technical settings as required.

F. Training & Onboarding

The successful candidate will be enrolled in onboarding programs covering:

  • Business conduct and compliance.

  • Technical product knowledge.

  • Sales enablement tools and processes.

  • CRM platform usage.
