Finance Manager for Mission-Driven Organization | North Shore, MA

Our client, a well-established nonprofit healthcare organization on the North Shore, is seeking a Finance Manager to join their finance team.
About the Role:
This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and supporting leadership with financial insights and recommendations. You will handle general ledger activity, monthly closings, reconciliations, and assist with audits and budgeting.
What You'll Do:

Prepare and record journal entries for assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenses

Maintain and reconcile accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP

Manage the monthly close process and prepare related reports

Perform variance analysis between budget and actuals

Prepare monthly Board reports and ad hoc management reports

Support external audits and prepare federal/state regulatory filings

Oversee accounts receivable monitoring and payment reconciliations

Assist with budgeting and cash flow reporting

Partner with operations to ensure accurate Medicare/Medicaid eligibility
What Were Looking For:

Bachelors degree in Accounting (Masters or CPA preferred)
5-10 years of progressive accounting experience

Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting

Proficiency with Excel and accounting systems (Sage and ADP a plus)

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
