About the Opportunity

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing construction firm based in Burlington, Ontario, specializing in industrial, commercial, and institutional (ICI) projects. This is an exciting opportunity to join a tight-knit team with a strong project pipeline and a reputation for delivering high-quality builds across specialized commercial sectors.

The Role

As Senior Estimator, you will own the full estimating function for a variety of ICI projects, working closely with project management and ownership to price work accurately and competitively. You'll be a key player in business development efforts and a trusted voice on project feasibility and cost strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end estimating on ICI projects from tender through award, including quantity takeoffs, subcontractor scoping, and bid preparation
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and site conditions to develop accurate and competitive project estimates
  • Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and supplier quotes, building and maintaining strong trade relationships
  • Identify project risks, exclusions, and clarifications and communicate these clearly in bid submissions
  • Collaborate with project managers and site superintendents during project handoff to ensure estimate assumptions are understood
  • Track bid results and maintain estimating data to continuously improve pricing accuracy
  • Support preconstruction activities including value engineering, constructability reviews, and client presentations
  • Manage multiple bids simultaneously while meeting submission deadlines

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of estimating experience in ICI construction
  • Background in commercial, restaurant/food service, or cold storage/refrigerated facility construction is a strong asset
  • Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Procore, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specs, and contract documents
  • Excellent analytical skills with sharp attention to detail
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with subtrades and suppliers
  • Self-starter who can manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred
