The Opportunity
Newlands Group is partnering with a growing construction company in Scarborough to hire a Business Development Manager.

This is a high-impact, client-facing role focused on driving revenue growth, developing new relationships, and expanding the company's presence across the GTA. The ideal candidate is a polished, well-presented sales professional with a strong background in construction or related industries.

You will play a key role in identifying opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and positioning the company as a trusted provider within the construction space.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities within the construction sector
  • Build and maintain relationships with developers, general contractors, and key decision-makers
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to closing
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and bids
  • Consistently meet or exceed revenue and pipeline targets

Client Relationship Management

  • Develop long-term partnerships with clients to drive repeat business
  • Act as a trusted advisor by understanding client needs and project requirements
  • Maintain regular communication and follow-ups with active and prospective clients

Market Intelligence & Strategy

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and project pipelines
  • Provide insights to leadership on opportunities for growth and positioning
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align sales strategy with operational capacity

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work closely with estimating, operations, and leadership teams
  • Maintain accurate records of activity, pipeline, and forecasts in CRM systems
  • Provide regular updates on sales performance and business development efforts

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of business development or sales experience within construction or a related industry
  • Proven track record of generating new business and closing deals
  • Strong network within the GTA construction market is highly preferred
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Highly professional, well-presented, and confident in client-facing settings
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with subcontractors, general contractors, or developers
  • Familiarity with construction project cycles and bidding processes
  • Experience using CRM tools for pipeline management
