8-hour shifts preferred, with flexibility for 4x10s
On-call rotation every 3 weeks for one full week
Compensation: $33.20 - $48.84 per hour
Job Overview:
We are seeking a certified Echo Technician / Cardiac Sonographer to join a busy cardiopulmonary team at a 240-bed hospital in Brunswick, Georgia.
This role is ideal for a motivated, growth-minded sonographer who is comfortable working in a high-volume echo environment and is committed to producing high-quality diagnostic studies. The department performs 400+ echocardiograms per month and uses advanced echo equipment, including five echo machines and four E95 machines. The team also performs 3D and 4D scans.
The Echo Technician will perform diagnostic-quality ultrasound studies of the heart and great vessels while working closely with cardiologists, clinical staff, and department leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic echocardiograms and cardiac ultrasound studies.
- Obtain required views and quantitative landmarks for each study.
- Perform measurements according to department protocol.
- Prepare images, reports, and video for physician review.
- Respond appropriately to STAT, ASAP, and same-day echo requests.
- Recognize and report life-threatening ultrasound findings.
- Operate and maintain echo equipment safely.
- Support a high-volume department performing 400+ echos per month.
- Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and other clinical team members.
- Follow department policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology program preferred.
- Echocardiography experience preferred.
- Certification required through one of the following:
- ARDMS as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, RDCS
- CCI as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer, RCS
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with M-Mode, 2D, Color Doppler, TEE, 3D, and 4D imaging.
- Strong attention to detail and image quality.
- Ability to work independently in a busy clinical environment.
- Comfortable with a high-volume echo workload.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
